# Booking a test

## Booking a pen-test

Once you have selected the `schedule` tab after following the `getting a quote for a pen-test` documentation, you will now be in the `Objectives` tab.

If you clicked on `Book a test` from the main portal page, simply select the type of test you wanted to book, the target scope you want tested and click next, you will now also be in the `Objectives` tab.

1. You now need to give a unique name to the test, any if you want, you can give objectives you want to be met for the test along with any notes for the testing team:

2\. Once you have given a name to the test and added any objectives or notes, click next.

3\. You will now be presented with the automated estimate of hours it will take to complete the test:

4\. If you are happy with the estimated hours, click the `Yes, lets go` button. If you think that the estimated hours require a manual estimate, click the `No, request a manual estimate` button. This will notify one of the OnSecurity team to manually calculate the estimated hours needed for the test.

5\. The next step is to schedule the date for the test. You will see that when you enter the date you wish to start the test, the end date is automatically applied to account for busy periods, weekends and bank holidays. It is recommended that the end date is not adjusted manually, as this may limit the testing time or prevent the testing team from completing all of the testing hours of the test:

6\. Once the testing dates are to your satisfaction, click the `schedule` button.

7\. You will now be asked to authorise the testing of the targets within the time frame given, once you approve of the testing, click the `schedule` button:
